Godaddy SSL Certificate Installation Steps
I am considering, you already purchased SSL certificate from Godaddy. I will explain steps to generate certificate and installation steps.
Step 1: CSR generation for SSL certificate in Cpanel
For SSL installation, first you have to generate CSR(Certificate Signing Request) of the domain. Login to cPanel dashboard and go to SSL/TLS.
On SSL dashboard, click on Certificate Signing Requests (CSR) to generate CSR key.
Now, fill up the CSR generation form and click on Generate. In CSR generation form you may fill only star marked fields. Also, don’t use any password in CSR generation.
After generating domain CSR, copy the CSR code completely.
Step 2: SSL generate on GoDaddy
Go to GoDaddy dashboard and find SSL Certificates under My Products. Click Manage All to configure SSL for the domain.
Now, configure newly purchased SSL certificate.
After clicking Set up, you will need to identify the primary domain. You can generate CSR here also, but for this, you must have a domain registered with GoDaddy. Insert the CSR in the text box and click on Continue.
Based on the CSR, system will detect the domain name.
Your GoDaddy SSL certificate in now generated and you will get one email from GoDaddy.
Now download the certificate by selecting server type. In my case, it is apache server.
A zip file will be download. Now extract the zip file, you will get three file.
Step 3: Upload the SSL certificate in cPanel SSL
Again go back to SSL manager on cPanel dashboard, click on Certificate.
On Certificate dashboard, upload the file which has alphabets and number mixed with crt extension, not gd_bundle crt file.
Browse the file from your system download directory.
After uploading, you can click install on the upload certificate to complete your SSL installation.
When you complete installation process your will get a popup with successful installation message.
